What Buyers Do That Real Estate Agents Really Hate?

Haters gonna hate. But, being hated by the people around you doesn't sound nice. You have to readjust yourself perhaps as there may be something in you that needs to change.

While we can't please anyone, we don't also want to be viewed negatively. It's true that we can't control how others view us but we can definitely control ourselves and we can prevent ourselves from being unjustly judged if we know the things that might upset another.

In the real estate business, it's always beneficial to know the outcomes of our every step. We don't want to make unnecessary mistakes and we don't want to be considered as someone we are not, nor be suspected to have done something we did not do. If we are a buyer or seller, all the more we don't want our own real estate agent to hate us because we fail in one way or another. So, just before we mess up on anything in real estate, it would be helpful to know what are these things that real estate agents really hate, things that we should avoid doing.

Making side comments

While we are entitled to our own opinion, we also should not just take advantage of it. Comments are okay if done in the right manner, at the right place and proper timing. Negotiating in real estate could pose a challenge and speaking just anything and anytime we want makes negotiations risky. Realtor suggests that voicing out your criticisms sometimes could spell disaster. Joshua Jarvis, owner of Jarvis Team Reality in Brookhaven, GA relates that there are instances where the seller has been home and overheard the negative comments of the buyer which hurt him. Here's the thing, if we don't control our tongue, it can mess up the deal, more so can affect our agent views us.

Taking too much time

Do not drive your agent crazy by wasting his time waiting for you to make an offer after having found the house you want to buy. You have to be quick in making decisions in real estate as the real estate market has a fast, competitive pace. Decide as soon as possible, otherwise, you will also waste the seller's time and this may affect your relationship with him and that of your agent. Realtor of Equity Colorado Real Estate in Denver, Dan Hicks, relates that if there's too much time allowed to pass for the buyer to check the house and make an offer, chances are, the seller might think you are not as serious as the other prospect buyers she met. Remember, you need to be quick in expressing your interest in the house that you want to buy because you are not the only potential buyer in the market.

Being dishonest to your agent

Transparency is a must in every negotiations, and if you want others to be transparent to you, do not ever lie to them or hide something they deserve to know. Handson Homebuyer suggests not to give a realtor a figure that you cannot really afford. Be transparent about your credit, income and assets and be honest of what you can only afford. Consequently, a good agent demands accuracy. If he will allow you to just lie about your finances, he is not the right agent for you.
