That is, if one's savings are enough to buy a palatial residence with a starting price of under $1 million. It is a fact that Manhattan is one of the most-sought areas to live in. The place is the home of the most famous landmarks such as the Empire State Building, the Hudson river and Central Park, a report from Amny said.

Listed below are some residences under $1 million that can be found in New York City, according to the report.

Washington Heights

This real estate property is a condo unit located at 100 Overlook Terrace No. 710. The unit has one bedroom and one bathroom and features a hardwood floor and a garage. There's a doorman too. The property's asking price is pegged at $299,000 with a maintenance fee of $666. 

Harlem

The property is priced at $735,000 with a maintenance fee of $810.

Yorkville

This $899,000 real estate property is located at 300 E. 59th St. No. 3604, and it sits on an 890-square-foot  lot.The unit has one bedroom and one bathroom and features an elevator, a spacious garden and a doorman. The estate's maintenance fee is pegged at $1,615.

Central Park West

This elegant apartment is located at 167 W. 73rd St. No. 9. It has one bed and one bath and measures 500 square meters. The unit features a roof terrace and has been described as pet-friendly. The asking price of the property is pegged at $899,000 with a maintenance fee of $1,448.
