'Avengers 2: Age of Ultron' Trailer, Footage & Spoilers: Details on the Death of An Avenger [Rumors]

If there's one thing that the "Avengers" sequel will capitalize on, it's death. Based on the trailer released last week, we know that "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be destructive.

The same has pretty much been confirmed by director Joss Whedon, noted Screenrant. When asked what the general philosophy of the sequel would be, he answered plainly: "Death, death and death."

Movie Pilot speculated that the theme of death is rumored to go as far as the death of one of most beloved superheroes.

Based on simple logic, some heroes will most likely finish the film alive and well. These lucky Marvel superheroes include Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) who have scheduled stand alone films due out in the future. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) is already confirmed to appear in "Captain America: Civil War" which leaves Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).

The site notes that most rumors center on Hawkeye's death but based on the trailer footage of Hulk/ Bruce Banner, a pretty strong argument could be made regarding the possible death of the green giant.

Movie Pilot wrote: "Much of the trailer contains images of Bruce Banner looking sick, trembling and feverish. Undoubtedly, he is recovering from losing control of "the other guy" again, but give that he is the most high profile *not* to have a future movie announced - could we see Hulk meet his end in Avengers 2?"

In an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly, via Screenrant, Whedon spoke bout the idea of killing off an Avenger.

Discussing that it's not out of the realm of possibilities: "I'm always joking about that. Um...maybe?... But I'd have to have a really good reason, a really great sequence for [Marvel executives] to go, 'We'll cut off a potential franchise, that's fine!'

He added: "They know as any good studio does, that without some stakes, some real danger, how involved can we get? We don't just rule it out across the board, but neither is the mission statement 'Who can we kill?' We try to build the story organically and go, 'How hard can we make it on these people?' You go to the movies to see people you love suffer-that's why you go to the movies."

The theme of death doesn't end with the Avenger characters, Movie Pilot also believes that Ultron (James Spader) will wipe the fictional country of Slorenia off the face of the Earth.
