Arkansas Man Guilty In the kidnapping and murer of real estate agent

Arkansas man, Arron Lewis has been slapped by the jury with capital murder for the kidnapping and death of real estate agent, Beverly Carter. According to Daily Mail, Carter disappeared after telling her husband that she was showing a house to a potential buyer. Arron Lewis was then accused of kidnapping and killing 50-year-old real estate agent.

According to prosecutors, Lewis and estranged wife Crystal Lowery orchestrated the kidnap for ransom plot. They set up the fake house showing in September 2014 so they could kidnap Carter. The prosecutors claim that when the ransom plot went awry, they killed the mother-of-two. Carter's body, according to Daily Mail, was found in a shallow grave at the site where Lewis once worked. Autopsy reports came back with results saying she was suffocated.

According to CBS, defense attorney claims that Carter had died in an accident during a consensual sex act. The prosecutors said that such claim was purely untrue. According to Pulaski County Deputy Prosecutor Barbara Mariani, the defendant was guilty beyond reasonable doubt and had only presented a claim that was offensive to Carter's family.

Furthermore, defense attorney Bill James also argued that Carter was having an affair because of financial and marital problems. James said, "It's not whether she's making reasonable decisions, but is it reasonable that she would be making these decisions? The answer is yes."

According to CBS, Lewis personally swore in his own defense, facing Prosecutor John Johnson during cross-examination. He admitted binding Carter with duct tape and burying her body but he denied killing her and pointed her death at his estranged wife, Lowery. Lowery pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and kidnapping in 2015 and now faces 30 years in prison. Lowery also testified as witness against Lewis and claims that the death was not accidental. Lewis, now, is facing life in prison with no bail.
