Beyonce's little sister is now a married woman. Solange Knowles has just married longtime boyfriend Alan Ferguson in New Orleans over the weekend.
Solange, 28 and Alan, 51, said their "I Dos" in front of 200 guests composed of the couple's closest friends and family, reported People Magazine.
"Everyone I worked with on the wedding are friends who I love," quoted Vogue of the beaming newlywed via email.. "Everything was a labor of love."
The ceremony, which took place at the Marigny Opera House, carried an all-white theme. Decked out with a million details that all tied in beautifully, an onlooker told the magazine, "Beaming. Calm. They looked pretty calm, relaxed on their wedding day."
"Definitely happy," they added.
Never one to follow the norm, Solange ditched the typical stretch limo, noted Vogue and recalled how Knowles arrived at the site with a white bicycle adorned with cream roses. The bride looked gorgeous ivory jumpsuit designed with a cape and plunging neckline by Stephanie Rolland.
The groom had his own matching white vintage bike, which he used to arrive at the wedding site as well.
Solange changed into a gown version of her earlier outfit, which she wore for the ceremony itself. The fierce dress was custom-made by Humberto Leon for Kenzo.
The ivory color was worn by not only the bride and groom but by key attendees as well. E! News reported that Beyonce, Jay Z and Blue Ivy also donned cream-colored outfits to the wedding.
Prior to the wedding, in total New Orleans fashion, the wedding party celebrated before the wedding as well as after. On Friday, Vanity Fair noted how Solange, Alan and their guests enjoyed a night out at the Indywood Cinema Theater when they screened the Diana Ross' 1975 film "Mahogany," the film the pair watched on their first date.
"Solange is getting married to a wonderful man on Sunday and they rented out the theater for a pre-wedding party," wrote the theater in a post via Facebook."It was beautiful, they were beautiful, Diana Ross is beautiful, love is beautiful. Sadly, we were not allowed to take any selfies."
Speaking about her blossoming romance earlier this year to Harper's Bazaar, Solange gushed over her partner.
"Luckily, I dated all of the losers ages ago," said the celebrity. "My love life has been stable for a while. It's a f---ed up thing ... without conflict it's a lot harder to write interesting songs."
This marks the second walk down the aisle for Knowles who has a 10-year-old son, Daniel.
