Tech Companies Tableau Software and Wave to Lease Office Spaces in New Real Estate Development in Washington

A new property development in Kirkland, Washington gets a boost in lease advertising with the announcement of tech companies Tableau Software and broadband company Wave that they will be among the first to rent office spaces in the property.

In a report by Geekwire, the Seattle region is currently experiencing a big boom in real estate development boosted by the influx of tech companies in the area; companies like Tableau which specializes in data visualization has been aggressively going after prime office spaces in Lake Washington. With more employees flocking to join various tech companies camped in the region, demand for their accommodations is expected to rise.

According to undisclosed sources that have insider information about the reported deal, the two companies have agreed to lease approximately 90,000 square feet apiece in the Kirkland Urban project. The said property is to be built on Central Way which is in close proximity to Peter Kirk Park. It will replace the Kirkland Parkplace development and the construction of the 1.2 million square feet development is set to begin sometime this year, with the building to be done in phases. When asked for comments about their leasing deal, Tableau and Wave declined to release any statement.

In a post by Seattle Times, local real estate company Talon Private Capital is reportedly the project's developer. The building was given the go signal just last month to begin with its initial phase. The first stage would expand the QFC store and add two office buildings. The first one shall be erected in front of the Central Way and the second at the back. Each structure will occupy about 190,000 square feet. It was also reported that Talon is planning to build a 205-unit residential building near Central Way and 6th Street. Once completed, Tableau and Wave are both expected to vacate their current office spaces.
