You Can Rent Airbnb CEO's Couch For $50

With more and more people travelling either for business or pleasure, Airbnb is becoming one of the most popular travel accommodations out there because of its unique concept and the more obvious which is that it's cheaper than booking an actual hotel.  The business has definitely grown into a multi-million company, but Airbnb's CEO confesses that he still rents out his couch for $50 in a report by Fortune.

Brian Chesky, 34, has definitely come far from the time when he struggled in keeping his San Francisco loft. Chesky and his roommate Joe Gebbia thought of the idea of renting out their living room offering three air mattresses and breakfast to willing guests in order to afford their rent; and the rest is history.

Today, Chesky is estimated to be worth $3 billion, and despite Airbnb becoming a huge hit, he actually opted to stay in the original apartment and still rents out his couch through the site.

"I still live in the original Airbnb and I still Airbnb it so you can book it," he tells People. "It's available throughout the year, you can book the couch for just like $50."

He added: "I just like hosting because I like to meet people and typically they are entrepreneurs themselves."

Presently, the website already has about 2 million listings with more than 60 million users from all over the world. In fact, even major celebrities have joined the network like Mariah Carey, Conan O'Brien, Olivia Palermo, Shailene Woodley and Ashton Kutcher, who also happens to be one of the business' investors.

With the success of the site and Chesky making a name for himself through the business, there are no plans for him to leave his humble place anytime soon.

"It's nice to walk up the same stairs every year and open the same door and go to the same house and know that there's something that hasn't changed - it's kind of grounding."
