A 27-year-old Chinese Property Mogul Lands $52 MIllion Sydney Harbour Mansion

What would you probably be buying if you were or when you reach 27 years old? For a young Chinese property mogul, it's a $52-million mansion that offers greats views of the iconic Sydney Harbour, the Daily Mail reports.

According to Domain, the sale was made off the market, and Shangjin Lin who also goes with the name Jim, after hunting Sydney's exclusive suburbs for six month, dropped the huge numbers for the waterfront trophy home, Villa Igiea.

The villa, which is a 1920s mansion located in Vaucluse, just tails in the record sales list behind the $70-million sale of James and Erica Packer's home last year which also happens to be nearby Mr. Lin's recent acquisition.

Mr. Lin is the managing director of property development and investment company, Aqualand, and just recently finished his studies at Macquarie University.

Aqualand is a subsidiary of Shenglong, a China-based developer which is owned by Yi Lin, named China's 92nd richest person last year, and is the father of Mr. Lin.

Previously working at Shenglong in 2007, Mr. Lin has since made $600 million worth of redevelopment purchases after he created Aqualand in 2014.

Married and with a baby, Villa Igiea is reportedly set to be the Lins's permanent home in the city.

However, the Lins will have to wait several months before they could move in as the five bedroom home is still booked for holiday rentals.

Villa Igiea is known as the top choice among prominent personalities like celebrities for short term stays in Sydney.

Among the celebrities who have chosen the harbor-side mansion as temporary residence were power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who stayed there together with their six children when the actress was in Sydney working on the film Unbroken which she directed.

You can also add Katy Perry, Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks and Beyonce and JayZ to the star-studded list.
