Former Kobe Bryant Home Lists for $12.8 Million

A plush Pacific palisades estate that was once owned by NBA player Kobe Bryant has hit the market for $12.8 million.

The Los Angeles Times broke news of the listing noting that Susan Montgomery of Sotheby's International Realty is the listing agent.

Property records show that Bryant owned the home during the early years of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant reportedly leased the property for two years before finally buying it. He paid $2.5 million in 1999 for the luxury pad just after he signed a six-year $70.9 million contract with the Lakers.

The residence is a 11,249-square-foot single-family house that is comprised of six bedrooms and eight full and two half bathrooms.

Interiors of the house boast of tiled flooring, high coffered and drywall ceilings and large glass windows and open doorways with custom hardwood wall coverings all around.

Other than the usual drawing and dining spaces, the home also has a huge modern kitchen with a marble center island and custom cabinetry. The house also has a home theater, a sports bar, an incomparable master suite and several open terraces.

Outside, the home has open patios, ample recreation areas that include a tennis court, a pebble-tech pool, a koi pond, an outdoor kitchen and a fire pit.

While this home is a lace the "mamba" once occupied, you can own one of his currently-owned digs in Newport Coast for $7.59 million.

Bryant and his wife Vanessa sold off another residence in Newport Coast last year. The home was a present from Bryant in 2011, just a month after Vanessa filed for divorce. However, she decided to sell the mansion and listed it for $3.75 million in September 2012. The price of the property was cut twice before it actually sold for $3.22 million. They still have another house in the area, where they reside.
