Jimmy Kimmel Unloads Hollywood Hills Home for $2.17 Million

Jimmy Kimmel, the famous talk show host, has reportedly managed to sell off his Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, home for $2.17 million.

Kimmel listed the home in August for $2.29 million and it went under contract Sept. 23 to close deal only by Oct. 22, property records show.

According to the Real Estalker (via Variety), the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host shared the residence with ex-girlfriend Sarah Silverman when they were still dating. Public records show that the house last sold for $925,000 in 2002.

However, after his break up with Silverman in 2009, he moved to a house in Sunset Strip. Since then, the Hollywood Knolls property has been offered (at least once) for rent. The Real Estalker found that it was listed for lease asking $6,900 a month in April 2012.

Listing records of the home state that the residence is a 3,605-square-foot single-family home, comprising of five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Sitting on a slightly elevated lot, the interiors of the residence feature light hardwood flooring, French doors and windows and high ceilings.

The two-storey home has a formal living area, a separate dining space, a large sitting room with a modern, renovated gourmet kitchen with a breakfast-bar and mid-rise island and granite counter tops.

The upper level has the bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a study.

Outside, there is a wrap around deck that has a barbecue area and outdoor kitchen with ample seating area. A small flight of stairs leads down to the pool area. There is a built-in beer dispenser in the outdoor yard too.

The house has two two-car parking garages and offers panoramic views of the city below and the "Hollywood" sign.

Karen Misraje of Partners Trust Beverly Hills is the listing agent and the house is described as:

"This home is located on a country lane street, high on a hill, in an area known as the Hollywood Knolls which started to develop in the early 1920's. Many of the homes in this area have the design & character of early Hollywood."

"One in particular is a home built in 1947 by the Ramsey family, perched at one of the highest points of the Hollywood Knolls," it adds.
