'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Movie Trailer Release Date on ABC's Marvel's 'Agents of SHIELD'; Plot Details & Cast Updates

Movie fans have been anxiously awaiting news regarding when they can catch another glimpse of the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron and it appears that Marvel Pictures is finally ready to throw them a bone.

It was reported that the first trailer for the upcoming super hero crossover will make its broadcast debut in next week's episode of Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Marvel made the announcement themselves during the end credits of Tuesdays episode of the television show on ABC. They would follow this up with formal statements on the @AgentsofSHIELD and @Avengers twitter accounts later that night.

CAST

Age of Ultron is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to one of 2012's highest grossing movies "The Avengers." The movie united Marvel heroes on the big screen for the first time for a modern audience under the direction of Joss Whedon. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) teamed up to take on Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston and his army of alien invaders.

The plot may not have been anything terribly special, but the dialogue and pure spectacle of seeing half a dozen popular heroes take on the forces evil earned the film more than $1.5 billion worldwide and helped it live up to the hype.

So how do you live up to the legacy of one of the biggest super hero films of all time? Make it bigger, of course.

PLOT DETAILS

There are not a lot of plot details available at the moment but there are a few things that are known for sure, according to Nerdist. For starters, siblings Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch (seen at the end of Captain America: Winter Soldier and played by Aaron Taylor Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, respectively) will be joining the fray though it is unclear if they will be heroes, villains or both.

Its also known that the titular Ultron will be a Tony Stake invention as he attempts to still save the world without having to constantly don his trademark armor. Of course, something goes terribly wrong with  the Ultron android and the Avengers need to join forces to make things right.

More rumors from Screen Rant even suggest that Tony's assistant A.I., J.A.R.V.I.S., will be joining the team as the hero Vision, though this is a plot detail that likely will not be revealed until the film is released.

Even with those few things in the movie, a lot has changed since the Avengers first assembled. S.H.I.E.L.D. as it was once known is dead, Tony Stark removed his chest piece and Loki has convinced Thor that he is dead. Where do all these pieces fit into the upcoming team-up film if at all? And wil any of the fan-favorite heroes be killed by this new threat, as suggested by Christian Today?

All will be revealed when Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
