'The Flash' and 'Arrow' Crossover: What to Expect from the Super Hero TV Shows During Their Eighth Episode

DC Comics has two major super hero TV shows on their hands right now. It was only a matter of time before they met up in a classic comic-book style crossover.

Arrow just entered its third season and is going strong and The Flash has pulled impressive ratings right out the blocks for its first two weeks. The fanbase for the two heroes means that this crossover- which will debut in the eight episode of each show- is coming at the perfect time.

The fact that the two heroes are so different in their attitudes and actions is something that is not lost on either of the two stars behind the masks.

"I was talking about this yesterday with a friend; about how Oliver and Barry are so different and me and Stephen are really different," said Grant Gustin, who stars as Barry Allen/ Flash in the series, per IGN. "We get along outside of work and it's been fun to show Barry and Oliver kind of butting heads. We're seeing them learn how to work together, but it's really funny because they're so different and the conversations they have are hilarious."

The crossover won't just be for the pleasure of seeing both heroes interact on screen either. Stephen Amell said that The Flash part of the storyline will have a very big moment for his character, Oliver Queen/ Arrow.

"I just thought it would be a cool idea," Amell said, regarding his input on his characters big storyline. "I thought it would be a good idea for The Flash. It ended up being a cool idea that we were able to utilize me for because we were doing a crossover with The Flash. So it was very professionally gratifying."

Not much is known about the specific plot of this DC television event and it is not the first time that the two heroes have crossed paths either. That said there will be one major difference in their latest encounter with each other: they will fight. Given how this is always a big draw when it comes to comic books, this should come as no major surprise to fans.

One of the other biggest draws for crossover events like this is for fans to see the characters that they are familiar with on both series come together and interact with characters from the other show.

Amell quickly pointed to Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco, as one of his favorite people to work with in the upcoming television event.

"I personally really enjoyed working with Carlos. He's just a very, very fun character and I think that one of the most interesting parts of the whole crossover observation that Oliver makes about Harrison Wells," Amell said.

The Flash/Arrow crossover event will air during the eight episode of both shows later this Fall.
