Maynard James Keenan Sells Los Angeles Home for $2.37 Million

Maynard James Keenan, the frontman of metal band "Tool", has reportedly sold his home in Los Angeles for $2.37 million.

Property records show that Keenan first listed the house in January this year and gave it a price chop in March to list at $2.79 million. It got a "sale-pending" sign by April, but the transaction wasn't closed. In May, it was re-listed only to de-list the following month.

It resurfaced later in July for $2.49 million and closed Oct. 8 for under the reduced asking.

The residence is a 3,750-square-foot, single-family home and is comprised of four bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.

Its whimsical interiors were perhaps what kept potential buyers away. High ceilings, tiled flooring apart - some walls in the living areas are painted bright red and in the master bedroom it was a bold blue.

Some comments across the internet said it like it is:

"It's like a movie set, a half-gothic dream! If you can't appreciate artistic vision, then move on. I'm sure Sharon Osbourne's house could be more to your taste."

But bright interiors are supposed to be in vogue in 2015, and therefore, the homeowners must have probably seen the upside to it. Christopher Baird of Keller Williams Larchmont represented both the seller and the buyer in the transaction.

The double-storey home has a formal living area, a dining room, a bonus room, a family room, an office, a sun room and a modern kitchen. A wine-tasting room and a walk-in pantry are also some of its other features.

Outside, the home has covered patios, a pool in the backyard, a detached spa and ample lounging areas with parking facilities as well. Also, the home sits practically in the "shadow of the "Hollywood" sign", which makes for a great location factor.

Meanwhile, Keenan welcomed his baby daughter Lei Li Agostina Maria with his wife earlier in July. The rocker posted a picture of his baby holding his finger on Puscifer - the rock band he created in 2003 - noting that his bundle of joy weighed 7 pounds and nineteen inches at birth, reports Billboard.

Currently, Keenan and his family live in Arizona, where he has taken to wine making.
