"Assassination Classroom" anime series season 2 has released a new visual via its official portal. The website also announces the complete list of episodes for the sophomore run.
Anime News Network says that "Assassination Classroom" has already announced its premier date aside from releasing a new visual. The anime series will kick off this January 7.
As previously reported here in Realty Today, the main staff of the "Assassination Classroom" anime series will also return for this second season. Seiji Kishi, who also helmed Persona 4 The Animation, Danganronpa The Animation, and Devil Survivor 2 The Animation, will still be directing the anime adapted from Yusei Matsui's manga. Kazuaki Morita, who already worked twice with Kishi, will be designing the characters, while Makoto Uezu will pen the scripts.
Crunchyroll reports that Anime Japan 2016 tradeshow, which is scheduled on March 25-27, has disclosed episode counts for the upcoming anime series next year. One of the episode counts being listed is from "Assassination Classroom."
According to the report, the second season of "Assassination Classroom" will have a total of 25 episodes. The premiere episode is already slated on Jan. 7, 2016, and Fandom Post states that it will be aired on multiple networks in Japan. "It's expected that the second season will get a simulcast pickup from FUNimation."
"Assassination Classroom" animation is produced at Lerche Studio, which is also part of Hibari. The manga series written by Yusei Matsui is currently released by Viz Media. FUNimation on the other hand had simulcasted "the first season of the series and licensed it for home video release."
On a separate report of ANN, Viz Media description of "Assassination Classroom" reads: "A humorous and action-packed story about a class of misfits who are trying to kill their new teacher - an alien octopus with bizarre powers and super strength! The teacher has just destroyed the moon and is threatening to destroy the earth - unless his students can destroy him first. What makes things more complicated is that he's the best teacher they've ever had!"
