'Fun' Nate Ruess Buys NoHo Co-op for $2.55 Million

Nate Ruess, frontman of the indie pop band "Fun," has reportedly purchased a co-op in the NoHo area of downtown Manhattan, New York City, for $2.55 million.

The New York Daily News first reported the purchase noting that the residence was listed by Debra and Denise LaChance of the Corcoran Group.

Listing records at Streeteasy show that the co-op at 710 Broadway, Greenwich Village, is a 2,500-square-feet residence that comprises of two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Interiors of the home show high coffered ceilings, hardwood flooring and exposed brick walls, all encompassed in an open floor plan.

One of the walls of the dining area has been converted into a huge wooden book shelf. There is a comfortable-looking living area and an open eat-in kitchen with a breakfast bar. A small flight of spiral stairs lead to an elevated level where the bedroom with an attached bathroom is.

The building at 710 Broadway is a 10-storey, 10-unit co-operative that was built in 1900.

Buying a home in the Big Apple doesn't come as a surprise because the band "Fun" was formed in the city. Ruess, who is an Arizona native, apparently has the most fun in New York City and wanted to buy a place as soon as possible.

"Fun" was nominated in six major categories of last year's Grammy Awards and won "Best New Artist" and "Best Song" for "We Are Young."

But before "Fun" became fun, Ruess was part of a band he named "NeverGonnaScore." Ruess and his friends used to jam in the garage of his Glendale home and no one really thought that they would score - this big!

"You start your first band, you can barely even play a song, but you think that you're ready to do it. I don't know that I would have continued to do it if I hadn't tricked myself into thinking at an early age that it was something I could do," Ruess recalled of his first attempt at forming a band in an interview with The Arizona Republic.

Some of Fun's most famous collaborations include "Just Give Me a Reason" with singer Pink, who recently sold her Sherman Oaks home for $3.21 million.
