Live Like Jake Peavy of Boston Red Sox at $12,000 a Month

Jake Peavy, the starting pitcher for MLB team "Boston Red Sox", is reportedly offering his home in the Black Mountain Ranch area of San Diego for rent at $12,000 a month.

The Los Angeles Times broke the news of the rental noting that Cheryl Berkson of Chase Pacific Property Management is representing the residence. Peavy and his wife Katie reportedly bought the home for $3.5 million in 2008.

Listing records of the home reveal that the single-family residence spans an area of 6,953 square feet and is comprised of five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Interiors of the house feature stone-tiled and carpeted flooring, exposed-beam ceilings and large glass windows and French doors.

The formal living room has a fireplace. There is a separate dining area, an office and a maid's quarters. There is a den and an extra room that serves as a guest bedroom.

Outside, the home has a pool with a spa, a large garden, a barbecue area and a sports court as well. The house also provides for ample parking.

According to the listing, the tenant has to pay for gas, cable/internet, water and electricity - they are exclusive of the rent. A security deposit of $15,000 is also applicable.

"Gorgeous Single Story Estate in the Santaluz CommunityBeautiful property located in the private Santaluz community," the listing claims.

Jake Peavy was drafted by the San Diego Padres and made his debut in 2002 with the team. He played until 2009 after which he was traded to the Chicago White Sox. In 2013, Peavy moved to the Boston Red Sox and even though he has a striking career graph, his stint with the Red Sox team hasn't been very fruitful.

Currently, Peavy is in his 13th major league season and will be a free agent after the season ends.

"I have no idea what will happen once we're done this year. I'm day to day with life in general. That's really it. We'll see what happens. But for now, I want us to win these games I pitch and I need to do everything in my power to make that happen," Peavy told the Boston Globe.
