'The Witcher 3' DLC Update: 'Blood and Wine' Development Set on First Quarter of 2016; CD Projekt RED Reveal Patch 1.12, 'Epic' Clip, DirectX 12 Support? [VIDEO]

A probable launch date for the "Blood and Wine" expansion by "The Witcher 3: Wildhunt," patch 1.12 update, DirectX 12 support and a new trailer, has been revealed.

"The WItcher 3: Wild Hunt" second expansion named "Blood and Wine" is rumored to be launched in the first to second quarter of 2016, between January-June, although the specific date of release is still being discussed by CD Projekt RED. The second expansion is surely worth the wait, as assured by the studio.

The second expansion "Blood and Wine" will also have new characters that are based on books like Fringello Vigo, the cousin of the Dutchess of Touissant Anna Henriatta, once the ex-lover of Geralt. Yibada reported that Community Manager Marcin Momot confirmed that they have added Bruxas, Manticore and Stringas, as well as Modkits as one of the new horse breeds in the game.

Momot also stated via Twitter: "In a meeting [and] looking at all these new features/changes coming to @witchergame with the expansion pack. One word - AWESOME!" He also confirmed that CD Projekt RED would integrate the gaming community's feedback into the new updates as well.

The plot for "Blood and Wine" occurs while Geralt investigates the mysteries in the Kingdom of Touissant,  as in its peaceful surroundings lie a terrible and dark secret.

CD Projekt RED confirmed the new patch 1.12 expansion release date in January. Although Momot has yet to talk about the advantages of the new patch, they will be disclosing it soon.

Momot answered a fan's query about "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's" DirectX 12 support via Twitter. He didn't have any news about the support yet. Finally, the new Epic trailer for the game has started streaming as the clip focuses on the characters, numerous game awards, quest, and the gameplay. The clip was released by CD Projekt RED.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is presently available for PC platforms, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
