Comedian Louis CK Drops $2.5 million on Babe Ruth's Former Vacation House

Louis CK, the famous comedian, has reportedly purchased a summer cottage house in Shelter Island that once served as a vacation home to baseball legend Babe Ruth, for $2.5 million.

The New York Post broke the news of the sale noting that the "Louie" star was seen boating in the area and is reportedly super-excited about renovating the residence.

According to the Public records, the house is a 4,957-square feet single-family residence, sitting on a prime 2.02-acre lot. The three-storey residence has six bedrooms, three full and one half bathrooms. The Tudor-style residence also has a basement level.

Called the "Primrose Cottage," the home has formal living and dining areas, an office, a den, an attic and a basement-level wine cellar.

Outside, the home has rolling gardens and a deck that opens out to a creek. Louis was probably spotted boating there!

The listing called the home "piece of old world, here on Shelter Island!"

The Real Estalker reports that Louis had a condo in the Apthorp Complex on the Upper West Side of New York City, but he and his family apparently moved to another place.

Louis is not the only one dabbling in real estate in Shelter Island. Just recently, designer Jonathan Adler and husband Simon Doonan put one of their homes in the area up for rent asking $11,000 a month.

"The house offers a living space of 1,299 square feet and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a separate guest house and parking space. Outside, there is a 75-feet heated pool and a small ping-pong court in the corner," a post on Realty Today reads.

While Babe Ruth's vacation residence just got whisked away from the market, his Boston home sold for $1.2 million in October, last year. The house last asked $1.3 million.

According to the listing records at Realtor.com, the residence is a large 5,231-square feet single-family home, sitting on a large 2.08 acre land. Comprising of five bedrooms and four bathrooms, the place is laden with luxury amenities.
