Burt Bacharach Net Worth: 'The Look of Love' Composer Lands $5.5 Million Seaside Pad In Del Mar

Legendary American composer, songwriter, record producer, pianist, and singer Burt Freeman Bacharach has landed a $5.5 million place in Del Mar, LA Times reports.

While the listing photo makes the house look overpriced for its price tag, it is the seaside location that makes this Del Mar property worth every penny. Built in the mid 70's, the two-storey house comes with a detached studio and is located just across the street and beyond a house to the sand which makes it close to the water.

Inside, there is the living room with a fireplace for the colder days, a family room for entertaining, a kitchen, and the 2,626 square feet house has six bedrooms and four bathrooms. Outside, there is enough space to accommodate four cars in the driveway parking.

The 87-year-old music legend is a six-time Grammy Award winner and three-time Academy Award winner. He worked closely with Hal David in writing his popular songs and compositions for Dionne Warwick, Perry Como, Marty Robbins, and Jerry Butler.

Bacharach's most memorable songs include "I Say a Little Prayer," "Walk on By," and "The Look of Love". He has been awarded the Oscars for "Arthur" and "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." As of 2014, he has already written 73 US and 52 UK Top 40 hits.

Last November 29, two-time Tony winner Steven Sater's "New York Animals" held its world premiere following previews that began November 14. Presented by the Bedlam theatre group, the musical will feature Bacharachs's music. "New York Animals" is a 20-plus character play but only four hard-working actors assisted by a resourceful costumer and a props master will play the show.

Bacharach's recently-owned Del Mar property was listed for $5.95 million in June.

The listing agent was Peter Buckley of Peter Buckley and Bacharach was represented by Jalane Kennedy of Pacific Sotheby's International Realty.

The Kansas-born singer, pianist, composer, and record producer has a net worth of $150 million dollars.
