Alex Pettyfer and Channing Tatum Feud: 'Beastly' Actor Admits Getting Axed from ‘Magic Mike XXL’ Because Tatum Doesn't Like Him

Alex Pettyfer had a falling out with co-star Channing Tatum during "Magic Mike" filming apparently due to the former's behavior.

Pettyfer's axing from the sequel "Magic Mike XXL" cast was mainly attributed to his feud with Tatum, who co-produced the film. However, the British actor admitted that he is somehow to blame for their disagreement, Us Weekly reported.

"It's true," the 25-year-old "Beastly" actor disclosed when the issue about him and Tatum was asked. "Because Channing Tatum does not like me -- and for many reasons [and] many being my own fault."

Pettyfer added that his insecurities got the best of him during the "Magic Mike" filming that his actions were misinterpreted by most of the people in production. According to the "I am Number Four" star, he did not mingle much with the cast. Instead, he would sit in a corner listening to music. People thought it was arrogance that made him do this, but he claimed it was actually plain insecurity on his part.

In addition, the part-time model failed to pay his rent for a home he leased from the "Step Up" actor's friend, the Film-News UK noted. When the rent issue popped up, Tatum sent an angry email to the "In Time" actor demanding him to pay the rent and not be a clown. Pettyfer took the profanity-filled letter the wrong way and so he replied, "I'm in a real negative headspace and can you respect me for a moment..."

Because of fury, Pettyfer did not pay the rent. Yet, he said in the interview that he should have just saved himself from all the feuding. He had given the "G.I. Joe" star more reason to hate him.

Nevertheless, Pettyfer confessed that he is thankful for Tatum because after the incident, he realized that he was being immature.

"This was kind of the end of my immaturity and all my experiences put into one," he said. "It was an incredible experience making Magic Mike. I wouldn't replace it for anything."
