'Fast & Furious 8' Cast News & Updates: Vin Diesel Confirms They Are Considering Adding Helen Mirren to the Film's Cast

With "Fast & Furious 8" on the early stage of its production, many fans have shared the stars that they would like to see in the film, and Vin Diesel has expressed his thoughts on the matter.

As expected, Diesel will still be appearing in the film and will be reprising his role as Dominic Toreto. Other actors who are expected to return are Michelle Rodriguez who plays Letty, Tyrese Gibson who plays Pearce, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges as Parker, Lucas Black as Sean Boswell and Dwayne Johnson as the Diplomatic Security Thread, Luke Hobbs. It was also confirmed that Jason Statham, who played Deckard Shaw, and Kurt Russell, who played Mr. Nobody in "Fast 7," will also be returning for the movie's eighth installment.

With the fans expressing who they want to see in the next film, the stars have also their own cast wishes. Michelle Rodriguez said that she would want to work with Angelina Jolie, while Tyrese Gibson revealed that he would want to add Matt Damon in the cast.

Earlier this year, some of the fans said that they would want to see actress Helen Mirren in "Fast & Furious 8." According to Crossmap, the producers are now currently considering to add the veteran actress in the cast. Diesel has confirmed this as he revealed in an earlier interview that they are interested in getting Mirren for the eighth installment of the franchise.

Meanwhile, Movie News Guide reports that Diesel also revealed that "Fast & Furious 8" might be the first part of the trilogy that will eventually end the franchise. However, the end of the franchise reportedly does not mean that the production will stop creating more prequel and spinoff movies. Diesel also confirmed that the writers have already prepared a storyline for all the characters, but he refused to reveal which characters have the chance to be part of a prequel or spinoff.

"Fast & Furious 8" is scheduled to be released on the second week of April 2017.
