Tom Hanks, the "Cast Away" actor has finally managed to sell his home in Pacific palisades for $5.02 million.

Hanks listed the home for $5.2 million in June 2013. Failing to sell over the period, he chopped off a slight chunk from the asking price and re-listed it for $4.99 million this March. Hanks owned the home for 25 long years.

Hanks purchased the home in 1988 during his early acting career. However, he and his wife, Rita Wilson soon upgraded to a much larger and posh home in the area that they purchased for $26 million. On the whole, the couple has four properties in Pacific Palisades itself.

Listing records of the home state that the residence is a 6,289-square-foot residence sitting on a 13,011-square-foot lot. The home is comprised of four bedrooms and five full and one half bathroom.

Interiors of the house have lovely marble floors and French doors and windows with high cathedral and tray ceilings. The simple home does not look much like a celebrity residence but definitely exudes the charm of a cozy single family residence.

The listing described the home as a, "classic Spanish home is uniquely positioned for privacy and security" adding that its "elegant large-scale rooms with charming archways and frescoed ceilings, contribute to the 1920's Hollywood glamour."

Hanks maintains a fairly good real estate portfolio. In a 1988 interview with Playboy, when Hanks was asked what he would be if he weren't an actor, he replied:

"I don't know. I'd probably be in the hotel business, which stems from my being a bellboy once. Or I might have gone into sales. I truly do thank heaven that very early, I was able to land in this job and lifestyle.
