Superhero News: Warner Bros To Develop 'Teen Titans' Movie

It seems that Warner Bros is currently on the roll to expand the DC comic book universe to the big screen with a "Teen Titans" movie.

JoBlo exclusively reported about the latest superhero news. The outlet started off with the rumors that the "Teen Titans" movie will be developed in favor over a single superhero film featuring "Cyborg." The solo "Cyborg" flick, which has Broadway performer and actor Ray Fisher as the lead star, was first scheduled to premiere in 2020.

As of this writing, there are no details about the rumored "Teen Titans" movie.

The DC comic book characters first appeared in 1964. They also starred in their own animated cartoon series on Cartoon Network. It was aired from 2003 until 2006. The group consists of Robin, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven and Cyborg. A spin-off entitled "Teen Titans Go!" started airing in 2013.

In June 2015, a TV pilot entitled "Titans" or "Blackbirds" was said to be currently under development at TNT. It has the "A Beautiful Mind" writer Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes attached to the project. In an interview with TV Line, TNT president Kevin Reilly described it as "groundbreaking project." He added noted that Goldsman wanted the series to be unique while remaining true to the original "Teen Titans" storyline.

“There were consequences to things that happened; it wasn’t somebody died and they moved on. There was the first superhero to be an addict [in Roy Harper’s Speedy]. It’s a coming-of-age story for Robin, who feels like Batman has betrayed him,” Reilly said.

The "Teen Titans" TV pilot will revolve around Dick Grayson, who was Batman's former sidekick Robin. He will then take on the name of "Nightwing" and lead the gang of youngsters and their alter-egos including Barbara Gordon, Hank "Hawk" Hall, Dawn "Dove" Granger, Rachel "Raven" Roth and the alien royalty Starfire.
