Everyone was ecstatic when "NBA 2K16" Patch 1.03 was announced for PS4 and Xbox One because 2K sports had promised that it will bring new content aside from fixes to recently reported bugs and crashes. It did add some new content but did it really bring fixes and improvements?
PlayStation 4 got Patch 1.03 ahead of the other console. As written on the patch notes, the third patch indeed brought new content such as additional jerseys and uniform customization options. The patch reportedly said that it has added "the ability to design an 'Away' uniform for your Pro-Am team. The appropriate uniform will be worn depending on if your team is Home or Away for the current game."
In another news, it said that Patch 1.03 for NBA 2k16 added more bugs instead. According to the Daily Sun, "Patch 3 instead turned out to be a half-baked attempt that further irked players." The fact that 2K Sports has shifted its focus on the development of "NBA 2K17" was cited as the reason why Patch 1.03 did not seem to deliver what had been promised. According to the Daily Sun, the developer has acknowledged that not all efforts were given to developing the fix to the bugs in the current NBA simulation game.
One of the complaints that came from the players following the patch is that the game has become more difficult to handle than it was before. Players have posted their complaints on Reddit, emphasizing on how randomly and frequently the ball gets lost. One user by the name of Jazzham wonders why everybody seems to drop the ball for nor reason. In his reddit post he wrote, "Even the best ballhandlers in the game, if you dribble the ball near another player they will bounce it off their feet and then stand there frozen while the other guy picks it up. Of course when the CPU fumbles the ball, they immediately recover it again."
