Marvel's ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Introduces New Superhero

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." has revealed a new team of superheroes called The Secret Warriors and the return of the show's midseason will introduce a new superhero.

There is a new team of superheroes called The Secret Warriors in the series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." but nothing much has been said about any of its individual members. According to Cinema Blend, that will change with the show's return after taking a break mid-season. It has been confirmed that the hero who goes by the name Yo-yo Rodriguez, otherwise more famously known as Slingshot, will be making her debut on the show. The actress tapped to play the role of Slingshot is Natalia Cordova-Buckley.

There is no official statement released yet to confirm when or in what episode she will make an appearance, but according to reports, Buckley will begin shooting scenes in January which would put the estimated reveal of her character sometime in spring when the show goes back to its regular programming schedule. "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will replace "Agent Carter" which will wrap up its second season.

In a report by Aces Showbiz, the character of Slingshot in the comic book is the female offspring of John Horton who is the uber bad criminal called Griffin. A mutation of her father's genes gave her the power of speed. But before she can fully take advantage of her superpowers, she has to go back to the site where she first activated her super abilities. It is Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) assigned by Coulson to form a new breed of heroes and the result is The Secret Warriors.

There are also new villains or Inhumans introduced in the show like Lash (Matt Willig). He is in reality the Inhuman version of Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood) and Joey (Juan Pablo Raba).

The show is regularly scheduled Tuesdays 9 p.m. on ABC.
