'Iron Man 4' Spoilers, News, Cast, Rumors: Robert Downey Jr. Demands Price Hike, Might Not Reprise Role as Iron Man, Release Date Not Set

After the appearance of Robert Downey Jr. in the "The Ellen DeGeneres" show where he hinted about "Iron Man 4," more speculations and rumors are making rounds on the internet.

It is reported that the movie's production and release wasn't set yet since negotiations about Downey's salary are still on the way because he is asking for a higher pay due to the success of his three "Iron Man" films.

It seems that the 50-year-old actor will not be able to reprise his role if the price isn't right. Negotiations of his salary have started since 2014 while Marvel Cinematic Universe was just discussing about the story line for the film, Cross Map reported.

In the previous year, Downey has made about $75 million with his Iron Man role and he is asking for $100 million for “Iron Man 4”. The chances are either Marvel will just sign Downey for the role again due to the immense popularity of his character or they will choose a different actor to play the role.

Rumors reveal that the kid Ty Simpkins who was the kid named Harley Keener, whom Stark entrusted his suit, might play the role as the successor of "Iron Man." It is speculated that the Tony Stark character will act as a mentor of Keener, who would have grown up a bit by the time "Iron Man 4" starts production, Movie News Guide reported.

Meanwhile, Gywneth Paltrow, who plays as Stark's wife and Starks Industries CEO Pepper Potts has already confirmed to return to the film if ever the sequel is happening.

However, it is confirmed that Downey will appear in next year's "Captain America: Civil War" as Tony Stark/Iron Man and as well as on the third and fourth installment of the "Avengers" called "Infinity War," Cinema Blend reported.

For now, fans are hoping that "Iron Man 4" will push through with the Downey, who had made a huge impact as Tony Stark and Iron Man for three previous movies as well as on the "Avengers" film.
