Did David Geffen just buy the ‘Cody House’ in the Hamptons for $67.5 million?

David Geffen, producer of "Beetlejuice," has reportedly dropped a massive $67.5 million on an East Hampton compound called the "Cody House," rumor has it.

According to the RealEstalker, Geffen has been looking for properties in the Hamptons for quite some time. He looked at a pad near Lily Pond Lane but finally settled for the 5.5-acre lot, which was owned by Courtney Ross Sale, the widow of the former Time Warner CEO Steve J. Ross.

In February 2013, word was out that Sale was marketing the estate in a pocket listing. However, in April, the place came up on the open market for $75 million.

The home is located in Georgica Pond, a 290-acre coastal lagoon, which lies on the western border of Wainscott and East Hampton Village. Steven Spielberg, Kelly Klein and Harry Macklowe are among those celebrities who call the area home. The house has earned the moniker of "The Cody House," as "Cody" was Steve's nickname.

The listing at Sotheby's shows no change in status. According to the records, the estate consists of four parcels that together stretch across 5.5 acres. The main house is a 7,500-square-foot residence comprised of seven bedrooms and six bathrooms located just in front of the pond. A three-bedroom guest house is located on one of the parcels.

A dock, pool, rolling greens and panoramic views of the Georgica pond are some of its exterior features.

The four-parcel place was also offered for individual purchases.

The Blog also reports that Geffen maintains a vast property portfolio. His other holdings include a condo apartment in Manhattan's Upper East Side, a residence in the Beverly Crest area of Beverly Hills, a beach-front property on Carbon beach in Malibu and more.

Meanwhile, Ross has been busy downsizing her own portfolio, selling off her 740 Park Avenue apartment in New York for $52.5 million last year.
