Jennifer Lawrence To Direct Project Delirium Movie

Everyone lauded Jennifer Lawrence's awesome performance in the "Hunger Games" films. Well, wait until you see the movie which she is about to direct.

Project Delirium, which she eyed as a potential project, is about a mental warfare way back in the '60s. The story is set during the Cold War where military doctors are running experiments on the effects of nerve gas and LSD on the soldiers of war.

The piece, called "Operation Delirium, was published by The New Yorker in 2012. According to entertainment weekly, Lawrence has been longing to direct a movie like many other actors who are in the peak of their careers.

Directing caught her attention when the topic about the necessity to hire more female directors to handle major projects was mentioned. The issue became popular, which inspired some female actresses to pursue this career.

The Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film stated that 13 percent of women directors handled successful films in 2014 and 7 percent are on the 250 top -- grossing films. The award-winning actress also talked about the wage gap between men and women in the film industry.

In the meantime, Lawrence is preparing to generate more Oscar buzz for her upcoming role in the movie "Joy" and asked the media and her fans to support her and Amy Schumer as they are in the process of finishing the script they are working on.
