Celebrity Real Estate: Von der Ahe Family Owns The Luxurious Hancock Park Residence

The luxurious Hancock Park residence located at Rimpau, Los Angeles was built in 1954 for the entire members of the Von der Ahe family. The rich Vons family, who own a supermarket chain, was once the owner of the palatial property, a report from Los Angeles Times said on Thursday.

According to the report, the lavish Hancock Park residence is actually a three-storey home that sits in a 0.36 acres of lot. Residents of the house will definitely enjoy the overlooking beautiful scenery of the Wilshire Country Club. It was said that several renovations were made to house especially the style which is now similar to some of the contemporary farmhouses somewhere in Northern California.

The house is a 6, 127-square-foot home and it has a very cool atmosphere because of the vaulted ceilings. The house has gallery walls, oak floors, six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms and viewing from the outside, one can easily be attracted to the "mature California oaks provide a canopy for a teak boardwalk, swimming pool and a running creek found at the edge of the grounds. It was said that the Vons family paid $7.149 million for the Hancock Park Residence which was developed by Steffen Lipofsky.

Some of the features of the house, according to the report are "light oak floors, vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, courtyard entry, teak boardwalk, open-plan living areas, formal living and dining rooms, chef's kitchen with center island, pantry with vintage library ladder, covered patio, fire pit, a spa, formal landscaping."

"The median sale price for single-family homes in the 90004 ZIP Code in September was $1.398 million based on 18 sales, according to CoreLogic. That was a 9.8% decrease in median price compared with September 2014. The listing agent of the property is Jenna Cooper of Teles Properties," the report said.

Wikipedia said that "Charles Theodore Von der Ahe was an American businessman, best known as an early innovator in the grocery business in Southern California, and founder of Vons supermarket chain in Southern California along with his two sons, Wilfred and Theodore."
