‘Sense8’ Season 2 Spoilers: Release Date Moved to 2017? Filming Set to Begin in March 2016

"Sense8" Season 2 may still be a year (or two) away from its return to the small screens. While many fans believed that the Netflix sci-fi series will be premiering its second season mid-2016, it looks like fans will have more waiting to do, as cinematographer John Toll revealed some interesting details about the upcoming season of the series.

The release date for "Sense8" Season 2 may be pushed back to late 2016 or as late as 2017, as a recent interview with cinematographer John Toll shed some light into the show's production for the upcoming season. Toll revealed to The Film Stage that he may return on the set of the show for Season 2, but they are still working on things such as scheduling.

"I think so. We're talking about it. It's just sort of starting to fall into place with scheduling and everything," Toll said.

When asked if he had any idea when filming is set to begin for "Sense8" Season 2, the cinematographer revealed that the cast and crew are looking into filming on March 2016. This seemingly dismisses rumors surrounding the show's release date for its sophomore season on Netflix.

Fans initially believed that "Sense8" Season 2 will premiere on June 2016 following Netflix's pattern for releasing its original series. Netflix Life also previously reported on a possible June 3, 2016 release date should the show follow the same trend as other Netflix originals such as "House of Cards."

However, given the nature and complexity of producing and filming "Sense8," which usually takes place in several locations, it looks highly unlikely that the start of filming on March 2016 will give fans a June 2016 release date.
