‘Warframe’ Gameplay & Update: Xbox One/PC Shooter Adds ‘Wukong Warframe’ Mythological Chinese Variant

A new report about "Warframe" has surfaced on Wednesday saying that a new "Warframe" will be added in the game. It was said that the free-to-play game will be having a mythological Chinese variant called the "Wukong Warframe" which will be launched on November 25.  Game developer Digital Extremes has announced that the game's new "warframe" is expected to be rolled out in PC and it will be available soon in Xbox One and PlayStation 4, a report from Gamespot said.

According to the report, the game's "Wukong Warframe" was actually inspired by Sun Wukong, a Chinese mythological figure. Wukong was known for his other name Money King which is written in a classic 16th century text called the "Journey to the West."

"Wukong is a primal warrior with the heart of a trickster. With his iconic Iron Staff, Wukong can turn the tide of battle, taking down swaths of enemies with his Iron Jab and Primal Fury skills. Wukong's strength is matched only by his cunning, allowing him to cheat death with Defy and to disappear from the battlefield in a cloud of mist with his Cloud Walker ability," reads a description of Sun Wukong as quoted in the report.

Listed below are some of Wukong's abilities as reported by Gamespot.

  • Iron Jab: Explode the Iron Staff to its true length, knowing down anything in its path.
  • Defy: Escape death by receiving a boost of health when killed.
  • Cloud Walker: Evaporate into a cloud of mist and float through the battlefield.
  • Primal Fury: Summon the Iron Staff and unleash fury

Meanwhile, PC Gamer reports that game developer Digital Extremes will be rolling out a new update to the game. It was said that the game's new update will be called "The Second Dream" and it is expected to be available on Dec. 2.

"The most dramatic change is to the death system. Like most free-to-play games, Warframe tries to annoy you into spending real money. Currently, dying means spending a 'revive token', and you only get four a day. But The Second Dream is doing away with this restriction, which is good news for pretty much everyone who plays the game. You still only get four tokens, but now when you return to your ship after a match, your supply will be replenished. It's always good to see free-to-play games making strides to be more generous. The Second Dream will also come with other, yet to be revealed changes, and a new PvP map called Orokin Moonbase," the report said.
