Tom Hanks Confirms 'Toy Story 4' Is In Production, To Hit Cinemas In 2018

Tom Hanks confirmed that Disney's Toy Story 4 has been given the green light and work has now begun on the popular animated adventure.

Hanks revealed on BBC's The Graham Norton Show that they have now started recording Toy Story 4, which will be released in 2018. The 59-year-old actor does the voiceover for cowboy hero Woody in the films.

An article on the Daily Mail UK revealed that Hanks still finds the task [on recording] strenuous especially to his diaphragm despite his years of experience portraying the smart-talking sheriff.

Hanks disclosed that recording for the film "takes a long time," and that they "are working on it right now." He also disclosed that he has "a recording session on December 2."

"It's very hard work animating these films. Honestly, it is because the recording sessions go on for four or five hours ... and my diaphragm gets a workout," Hanks explained.

"I'm driving home and I literally have to put an ice pack on my chest because it's clenched throughout," he added.

He joked that he got himself into trouble after revealing too many details about the upcoming film "Toy Story 4," an article on the Mirror.co.uk stated.

"Somebody stuck a microphone in my face one day and said, 'Is there going to be a Toy Story 4?' and I said, 'Yeah, yeah, I think so,'" he laughed.

"And I got a call from the Disney lawyers the next day who said, 'You are contractually not allowed to discuss Toy Story 4 or it'll affect the stock market price of the Disney comic stock. And I just said, 'Hey, I'm sorry."

The Daily Mail UK further stated that the director of the first two installments of "Toy Story," John Lasseter, will be returning to "helm the film" with Tim Allen to voice the iconic Buzz Lightyear.

He said that the plot of the next "Toy Story" film will be stemmed from the previous "Toy Story 3" plot -- a great plot idea.

"We love these characters so much; they are like family to us. We don't want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what's gone before."

He added, "Toy Story 3 ended Woody and Buzz's story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another Toy Story movie. But [the new idea was] so exciting to me, I knew we have to make this movie -- and I wanted to direct it myself."

The "Toy Story 4" official plot synopsis will be revolving around Woody and Buzz on an adventure "to find the one toy who was given away... Bo Peep."
