Universal Wants Angelina Jolie On 'Bride Of Frankenstein' Remake

Convincing Angelina Jolie to play the "Bride of Frankenstein" is currently being worked out. Universal is praying that she would say "yes" for the planned film.

According to The Guardian, Universal is currently trying to convince the "By the Sea" actress to play the role of the classic horror film. Studio executives are hoping their support of Jolie's "By The Sea" project, which she directed and starred in opposite her husband Brad Pitt, would help pave the way for Jolie to take the lead role in the classic horror "The Bride Of Frankenstein."

An article on Word and Film stated that Universal only funded her arthouse drama because they are really hoping and praying that she would take the role they want for her.

Universal is planning to revive the classic horror films like "Frankenstein," "Dracula," "The Mummy," "The Invisible Man," the "Wolfman," and the "Creature from the Black Lagoon."

If Jolie joins the film, The Guardian mentioned that she would be the next Elsa Lanchester who originally played the "Bride of Frankenstein" when it was first released in 1935. She co-starred with Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's monster. The version was even considered as Whale's masterpiece.

Universal has other plans for Angelina Jolie if ever she would not accept the role. They said that they are planning to have her as assassin Fox, in a sequel to the 2008 comic-book hit "Wanted."

The same source also stated the reason why Universal keeps on convincing her for the planned movies. "The actor remains a huge pull when pitched to audiences in the right projects: the 2014 Disney revisionist fairytale fantasy "Maleficent," which was built around Jolie in the title role, took $758 million worldwide, despite distinctly lukewarm reviews," The Guardian disclosed.

Would there be a possibility that Brad Pitt may take the lead role as Jolie's husband for "Bride of Frankenstein?" Would Brad Pitt consider the project after the "By the Sea" passion film project's failure?
