NBA Trade Rumors: Taj Gibson to Strengthen Toronto Raptors’ Line-up

With the Chicago Bulls having some game time issues with their frontcourt players, Pau Gasul, Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, and Nikola Mirotic, the Toronto Raptors may actually hold the solution for the said concern. It is now being rumored that the Bulls would have to trade veteran player Taj Gibson for Patrick Patterson of the Toronto Raptors in order to suffice the issue.

With the Raptors trying to strengthen their power forwards' spot, especially on the defensive end, the team could actually utilize a defensive player like Gibson. On the other hand, letting go of Gibson would mean more playing time for Joakim Noah, who has been observed to be having a decreased period inside the court and was also being rumored to be shipped out of the Bulls. It was also emphasized by Movie News Guide that, "the trade would not be a perfect swap, if it happens. However, Gibson would be a good addition for the Raptors. It seems that the Bulls' power forward would be a better go well with the Raptor's offense-oriented power forward players such as Luis Scola. Gibson's impressive defensive skill would be an advantage for the Raptors."

On the other side of the coin, the Bulls having Patterson on their roster should not expect something big from the player, for Patterson is not known for his defense or his rebounding skills. But with the shooting range of Patterson, he could stretch the defense. Basically if the trade will push through, the Patterson effect would be more on the increase of game time for the Bulls' key players.

Seeing Gibson wearing a Raptors jersey would likewise mean more playing time for Gibson who has been competing with his fellow frontcourt players in the Bulls' franchise. This is also an opportunity for Gibson to exercise leadership and maturity over relatively younger players in the Raptors.
