'Five Nights at Freddy's' Updates: Movie Adaptation In Progress; New Version To Be Released in 2016

Scott Cawthon's horrifying point click game, 'Five Nights at Freddy's,' will soon be made into a movie and Poltergeist director Gil Kenan will direct the adaptation.

The details and plot have yet to be revealed but according to Design and Trend, the animatronics will be made at the Henson Creature Shop, and it will be filmed in more than one location.

Kenan has been updating fans on the progress of the film, dropping hints of how the movie would go. He is also accommodating gamers' questions about the characters as a way to promote the upcoming flick. In one of his Twitter responses, he said he prefers using animatronics over computer-generated imagery because it's the most practical choice and it also brings the most genuine horror.

There are 4 main characters in FNAF, Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, but the director did not mention who among these animatronics would be seen in the movie. Kenan has been posting pictures over his Twitter account that don't really depict exact character models for the film, but they hint that the production is very much in progress.

Fans are anxious of the movie adaptation storyline, wanting it to remain faithful to the game. Kenan confessed that he is an FNAF fan himself, so he assured them that it would be more or less the same with what Cawthon had established.

FNAF maker Cawthon released a preview of the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's World which featured the four main animatronics as they battle opponents using giant pizzas, stars and musical notes. There have been mixed feedback on the teaser but no one really knows what Cawthon is up to since he always surprises fans with new things.

There's no confirmation yet as to when the adaptation will be released but Cawthon's Five Nights at Freddy's World is said to be available come 2016.
