Kate Middleton Upset Over Kensington Palace Apartment Interior Color Scheme; Redecorating Soon

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge is reportedly unhappy with the color scheme she chose in their Kensington Palace apartment. Several news sources are reporting that Kate and hubby Prince William will soon be embarking on a redecoration project for their home.

Will and Kate moved into apartment 1A of Kensington Palace in October 2013 after it went through a $2.3 million overhaul. They rented a cottage in Anglesey, before Prince George was born in July 2013. The cottage was up for rent after they moved out.

Interiors were done up in shades of beige and earthy neutral colors. However, the Duchess eventually got bored with the  dull tones in her house and tried to spruce it up on the cheap. However, the results were horrible, reports Daily Mail.

"She tried to do the revamp cheaply with the builders who did the kitchen, and she got Dulux paints to match the Farrow & Ball color palette to save money. But she wasn't happy with the result, and one room came out with a horrible, unexpected purple tinge. She's blaming it on her hormones before the birth," a source told the publication.

Kate will now be consulting Ben Pentreath, a famous architect and designer, who will help her pick the right colors for the house. Costs of the redesigning will be covered privately by the Royal Family, reports Showbiz Spy.

Last time the palace was under renovation, the couple rented out a place. Looks like this time, the Royal couple will be heading to Australia and New Zealand with the Royal baby. Therefore, by the time they return, the home will be ready for the family.

According to US Weekly, Will, Kate and Prince George will be taking a vacation to the aforementioned places in a month's time.

"The Duchess has never visited either country, so this is a chance for her to meet the people of New Zealand and Australia for the first time. The Duke last visited New Zealand in March 2011, shortly after the devastating earthquake in Christchurch. During the same visit, he also went to Victoria and Queensland in Australia, which had been very badly affected by natural disasters," Miguel Head, private secretary to the Duke of Cambridge, said in a press conference on March 2.
