Marilyn Monroe's West Hollywood apartment up for rent for just $3500 a month

Marilyn Monroe's former West Hollywood apartment is up for rent for just $3,500 a month, according to a new Craigslist advertisement.

The partly furnished apartment, located on the northwest corner of Fountain and Harper Avenue, is a 1,000-square-foot condo unit with two bedrooms and one bathroom. According to the ad, all the original features of the 1920s apartment have been preserved.

Monroe lived in the apartment during the 1950s.

The apartment now features restored hardwood flooring, original tiling in the kitchen and bathroom, a wood-beamed ceiling and large French windows. There is a large front porch with a private entrance, a storeroom, a laundry site and off-street parking.

In June 2013, a vacation home where Monroe and other celebrities like Cary Grant and Jules Stein once lived hit the market for $14.8 million. Located atop a hill on Shore Road at Lake Arrowhead, Calif., the residence is a 15,000-square-foot, single-family residence sitting on a 34,848-square-foot lot. The home is comprised of 10 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms.

While former Monroe properties are up for grabs, the auction of a controversial video tape that allegedly shows the actress engaging in sexual activity with John. F. Kennedy and his brother Robert was recently called off.

William Castleberry, a former Hollywood bodyguard, seized the tape and reportedly kept it private out of respect for Monroe's ex, Joe DiMaggio. After he recently defaulted on a debt and needed to make payments, he decided to auction the tape. However, an anonymous person covered the costs for Castleberry and the auction was called off, reports the Daily Mail.
