Vintage Time Capsule For Sale in New York

Everything gets better with age, or at least that's what majority of the people say nowadays. In a glance, you will able to say that this house has a little to offer, but wait until you get inside as it tells you a great story about the man who built it.

This time capsule was designed by renowned architect, Robert Clarke, and is now for sale for the first time since it was built in 1960. According to Zillow, Clarke is known for his ahead-of-its-time designs that uses connective spaces, open windows and natural woods. This includes cherry, cedar, maple, pine, walnut and gumwood recovered from the bottom of the Mississippi River. Talk about the love of nature.

As mentioned by Wowhous, the property is about 3,000 sq. ft., which includes four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The fixtures and fillings remain untouched so everything looks as it is when it was built, though some areas might be needing an update. Aside from this, the basement is also unfinished, but the selling point of the house is it's originality and clever use of woodwork. The design is also on the modernist side even if it was built in the 60s.

According to Curbed, the house consists of double-layer brick walls and floor-to-ceiling windows, while the four-bedrooms also retain original built-ins in almost every room, several pendant lights, and a copper-hooded fireplace which costs around $450,000, which also includes five acres of woodlands and an access to a creek nearby. Check out the photos here from Zillow.

Aside from the bedrooms, it also has a good-sized office space, a garage that comes with a workshop, a barbecue pit, and a fireplace.

Do not judge a book by its cover, or rather, do not judge a house by its outside appearance.

The midcentury property is located at 1210 Woodhull Road, Webster, New York.
