Celebrity Homes for Sale: Singer Neil Young Sells His Hawaii Oceanfront Estate for $20M

Rock and Folk legend singer Neil Young is selling his oceanfront estate located in Hawaii oceanfront for $20 million, a report from Yahoo said on Friday.

Young's property was described as a "historical estate," according to listing agent Carrie Nicholson from Hawaii Life Real Estate. "It provides luxurious privacy. It's a very classic Hawaii style," she said, as quoted in the report.

"The property includes a main house, two guest cottages, a two-car garage, two screened greenhouses, and expansive lanais. The main residence on this historic estate includes over 2,900 square feet of indoor living area and 3,200 square feet of outdoor living space with verandas overlooking the clean, blue waters of Wai'alea Bay," said Carrie Nicholson, broker-in-charge and director of Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers via a blog.

"Comprised of over three acres total, this property's location is truly spectacular. Surrounded by the ocean on three sides with over 830 feet of ocean frontage, this property feels like an island oasis. The white sand beach known as 69's is located just to the north and the private Kiele Bay to the south," she said, describing Young's property.

Future residents of the oceanfront estate will definitely enjoy the panoramic and majestic views of Maui. Some of the popular tourist attractions in the beachfront are a "year-round sunsets over the ocean, Hawaiian spinner dolphins, and humpback whales in Wai'alea Bay."  They can also enjoy surfing, snorkeling and kayaking in some of the selected areas within the charming property.

Aside from enjoying the ocean view, future residents will be able to plant organic crops in the property and create a vegetable garden with fruit-bearing trees such as mango, banana, lemon, papaya, and pomelo trees. The oceanfront property offers a peaceful and private Hawaiian beach lifestyle.

"Young has long been linked to Hawaii. He's recorded songs and wrote his memoirs at his estate. In 2012, he talked about his Hawaiian getaway in an interview with Parade magazine: "I love to be in the water. I love to paddleboard and just hang out with friends," Yahoo said.
