'Grand Theft Auto V' News: Game is One Among the Rockstar Titles Contributing Big Revenue From DLCs

"Grand Theft Auto V" or "GTA 5" has a new DLC that is a major success for Rockstar.

According to Express, updated earnings for the period ending September 30 from Take Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company, show that "GTA" online is raking in big bucks from micro-transactions. Aside from GTA, other titles reported to have high net revenues are NBA 2K15 and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.

This means, that Rockstar's decision to dedicate it efforts to constantly producing DLCs is paying off. Sources of revenue are said to have come from growing recurrent consumer spending such as virtual currency, downloadable add-on content and online games over multiple titles. Take Two is reported to have it generated $364.9 million in revenue from micro transactions of its games like "Grand Theft Auto V"

With GTA Online maintaining its 8 million players per week, Rockstar and Take Two must be proud of its loyal fans.

With this, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two Strauss Zelnick says in a canned statement, "Take-Two once again delivered better-than-expected [revenue] and earnings growth," Take-Two chief executive Strauss Zelnick said in a canned statement, according to Venture Beat. "Our second quarter results were anchored by the series record-breaking launch of NBA 2K16, along with ongoing demand for Grand Theft Auto V and strong growth in recurrent consumer spending."

While this proves that Take Two certainly knows how to make money, in another news, the company is reported have sent a couple of private investigators to the creator of FiveM. According to VG 24/7 FiveM, along with GTA: MP, now both inexistent, were mods that allowed GTA 5 online players to play outside of Rockstar's official servers. In august players caught using FiveM were banned. The news came out after the said modder has taken to reddit to reveal that Take Two had two investigators show up at his doorstep.

Take Two does know how to handle business well, they make money and at the same time take modding very seriously.
