"Longmire" has been officially renewed for Season 5. After much debate among fans and viewers of the show, fans' worries were set aside when the series finally announced Netflix's decision to renew the show for another season.

"We've never been one to back down from a fight. Longmire will return to Netflix for Season 5," the announcement was made on the show's official Facebook page on Oct. 30.

The announcement of "Longmire" Season 5 received 80,635 likes as of writing and the post was flooded with heartfelt thanks from fans and viewers of the show. While many people thought that fans will be contented with the show's renewal for season 5, Christian Today reported that fans and viewers came up with another wish.

According to the outlet, fans started urging Netflix to air at least 20 episodes in "Longmire" Season 5.

"THANK YOU NETFLIX season 4 was such a hit I can't wait for season 5. Give us 20 episodes," a user named Anne Dowman Tate wrote on the show's page.

The outlet noted, however, that there are not much details about "Longmire" Season 5 yet, as Netflix has just announced its renewal for another season. However, given that the streaming service giant has released Season 4 on Sept. 2015, then fans may expect to see Season 5 premiere on Sept. 2016.

"Longmire" is based on Craig Johnson's series, "Walt Longmire Mysteries" and stars Katee Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips and Robert Taylor. The show initially ran on A&E for three seasons and was picked up by Netflix in Season 4.
