Money Problems: Terrence Howard Loses Lawsuit on Unpaid Rent

Calling Tony Stark, Rhodey is running out of money.

Yes, Terrence Howard, 'War Machine' in Iron Man (first) has just lost a lawsuit involving unpaid rent, according to several news reports.

However, that is just the tip of the ice berg. As the story goes, Howard was renting a fancy apartment in New York City. His lease got over in November 2012 but the actor kept living there until the landlord evicted him in May 2013, reports TMZ.

Apparently, Howard owns around $51, 907.85 in unpaid rent. His landlord sued him for back rent. A court hearing was scheduled recently but the actor didn't show up. The judge ruled the case in favor of the plaintiff. However, another session has been scheduled to assess how much Howard actually owes the landlord, reports MonstersandCritics.com.

Looks like, the man has some serious money management or financial issues. He not only owes rent to his landlord but also owes about $120,000 in spousal support to his ex-wife, Michelle Ghent, reports Daily Mail.

"Since the commencement date of 5/15/12, Terrence Howard has only made sporadic payments to me totaling $18,435 and owes an arrearage sum of $63,303... Terrence Howard owes me $122,221.64 including interest... legal fees to my lawyer, $15,500, "Ghent accuses in her legal papers.

Earlier in 2012, Howard also battled out a credit card payment issue with American Express, where he owed a total balance of $33,474.79, according to Perezhilton.

So why did Howard not turn up in court? Probably because he is busy 'entertaining' his new wife, Miranda, someone from outside the movie circle. The couple wed in a very private ceremony just a month after dating!

"It's another one of his outlandish moves... he only knew and/or dated her for about a month!" a source close to Howard told Radar Online.

This marriage has not only cost him a lawsuit but also a role in the next Avengers movie. Don Cheadle has been signed on for the role of James Rhodey in The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, according to Classicalite.com. Although Howard was booted after the first Iron Man movie, he could return in this instalment of the Marvel film.

Meanwhile, Howard does have some projects in his kitty which could fill up his bank account. Check some of his upcoming projects out, here.
