Giada De Laurentiis Updates: Costly Divorce, Alleged Bobby Flay Affair and Women's 'Husbands' Hall Pass'

Giada De Laurentiis may still be in hot water as rumors of her alleged affair with fellow chef and Food Network celebrity Bobby Flay are getting nastier day by day.

Amidst the expensive divorce from Todd Thompson, her husband of 11 years, she has remained quiet for quite some time. According to TMZ, the divorce settlement states that De Laurentiis will pay her ex $9,000 a month in child support and Thompson will keep the $3.2 million house in Pacific Palisades. Unfortunately, De Laurentiis has to give her ex 50 percent of all net book royalties for books published during their marriage and 50 percent of the unpaid advances to several cookbooks that she has in the works.

Speaking of her cookbooks, what was stipulated in the settlement is not stopping her from doing what she loves. In an interview with Philly, De Laurentiis talks about her eighth cookbook and how it has helped her cope with a "personally traumatic time."

According to Philly, De Laurentiis treats her cookbooks like her children and they tell a story. But at the end of the interview, Giada has shared something spicy and most likely would keep her in boiling water. Her response was surprising when she was asked, "You have quite the male fan base. Do you embrace it or do you ever feel objectified?"

She said, "I'll have women tell me that I am their husbands' 'hall pass'. It makes me blush every time and I don't know how to react. I don't know if I should say I'm honored or I should run away.

"On the other hand, I'm so happy that women feel like they can say that to me because sometimes women can be super jealous. But maybe it brings husbands and wives closer together. A lot of women love watching cooking shows, but a lot of men won't sit through them. If I get a family to sit down together, if I get men and women to sit and watch a cooking show together, then I embrace it."

If her affair with Bobby Flay was true, it certainly wasn't a hall pass.
