'Alcatel Fierce XL' Review, Price, Specs: Low Cost Smartphone Features 5.5'' Android With Polaroid Camera

Alcatel is coming back on track with the addition of "Alcatel Fierce XL". It is a low cost smartphone with a large screen and it will be released for the smaller US carrier, MetroPCS. This new smartphone will be launched November 2 and it will come with an expected price tag of $139. It was said that "Alcatel Fierce XL" will also come to T Mobile soon.

"Alcatel Fierce XL" Specs

"Alcatel Fierce XL" will have LTE network support and it will have a 5.5 inch LCD capacitive screen with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution (267 ppi). It  will run Android Lollipop v5.1.1 and it will be powered by Snapdragon 210 with a quad core 1.1 GHz Cortex A7 CPU and an Adreno 304 GPU. The internal storage is 16 GB, the RAM is 2 GB, and the microSD slot can cater up to 32 GB external memory.

"Alcatel Fierce XL" will have an 8 MP rear camera with 3264 x 2448 pixels that has auto focus and LED flash. The front cam is just 2 MP.

This new Alcatel phone is capable of WiFi hotspot and it has a Li Ion 2500 mAh battery with a stand by time of 360 hours on 3G and a talk time of 12 hours on 3G. The only color available is white.

The key selling point of the "Alcatel Fierce XL" is its Polaroid Photo Editing Software where you can choose from multiple borders and filters, including the ever iconic Polaroid border. You can also assemble single, double, and multi shots for customizations and then add layouts and notes.

As a conslusion, it seems like this new "Alcatel Fierce XL" is one good smartphone. Considering the price, it seems like the Polaroid software add-on is a great extra feature. It can actually compensate to the lower midrange specs the phone has. Besides, 2 GB RAM is not bad at all, and the 8 MP rear cam is still better than other phones' 5 MP primary cameras. The LTE network support also does allow for faster mobile browsing.
