Will and Jada Smith Selling Calabasas Home for $42 million?

The latest gossip in the property grapevine is that actor Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, have listed their plush home near the Santa Monica Mountains in the neighborhood of Calabasas for a whopping $42 million.

According to the Real Estalker, the couple may be marketing the home in a private listing. Public records show no changes currently and no official word from the Smith camp has come either.

However, the residence is a plush family pad, tucked away in a scenic area near the mountains. The residence is securely located in a private, gated compound and has rolling greens and a lake too.

The home was featured in the September 2011 issue of the Architectural Digest. The family apparently spent around four years building the home and invested unknown amount of millions into its construction.

The residence itself is a 25,000 square feet mega mansion sitting on a 150 plus acre lot. The interiors are done up with utmost taste and style. The home has a recording studio where daughter Willow Smith belted out her 2010 hit single "Whip my Hair".

According to the Arch Digest 'For their family's highly personal retreat in California, the stars called on Stephen Samuelson to design an adobe-style residence full of intimate spaces, organic forms, and handcrafted details.'

The Smith family has an impressive real estate portfolio. They have several properties scattered around Pennsylvania, Los Angeles and Hidden Hills.

The Smith clan recently grabbed headlines when a picture of the stunned family went viral. It was said that the family was reacting to Miley Cyrus's Twerking performance at the MTV VMA awards. However, it was later confirmed that the family was rather awed by Lady gaga's performance, reports Digital Spy.
