'Jessica Jones' TV Update: Trailer for the Marvel and Netflix Series Released

Marvel and Netflix has released an extended trailer for the latest "Jessica Jones" TV series. 

The more than two minutes teaser trailer was released ahead of the show's premiere on Nov. 20 on Netflix.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Jessica Jones" TV series is the second collaboration between Marvel and Netflix after the success of the Marvel's "Daredevil." Both series are included in the four-part mini-series crossover for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which also has Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the Defenders.

According to Slash Film, the video kicks off with the song "Thousand Eyes" by Of Monsters and Men. At the start of the trailer, Jessica Jones is letting a guy out from her office in a way that she can only do, which resulted into a broken window and a possibly injured man. After her failed attempt at being a superhero, Jessica now works as a hot-headed private investigator in her "Alias" detective agency located in Hell's Kitchen, New York City.

The video continues with the action-packed interactions of Jessica and various characters including her boyfriend, Luke Cage, and the mysterious voice behind the series' villain, Kilgrave a.k.a. "The Purple Man." Both men will have a large impact on Jessica's life as she tries to adjust living in the human world with her superhero powers.

The "Jessica Jones" TV series is based on the Marvel superhero of the same name, who was first seen in the "Alias" comic book series in 2001. The said character was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos. As of this writing, Jessica Jones is the second female superhero to be showcased in another female-fronted series following ABC's "Agent Carter" starring Hayley Atwell.

The TV adaptation of the comic book superhero stars Krysten Ritter ("Breaking Bad") as the titular Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage ("American Horror Story: Coven"), Rachael Taylor ("Crisis") as Trish "Patsy" Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss ("Chuck") as Jeri Hogarth and David Tennant ("Doctor Who") as Kilgrave. They are joined by other cast members including Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, Will Traval, and Rosario Dawson.

Created by Melissa Rosenberg, the 13-episode superhero series has Rosenberg, Lizz Friedman and Jeph Loeb as executive producers. It is produced by Marvel Television, ABC Studios and Tall Girl Productions.
