'Kingdom Hearts III' Updates: Multiplayer Mode Possibility and Two New Characaters

It has been 10 years since Square Enix has released the popular action RPG "Kingdom Hearts II," which combines Disney and Square characters in one adventure quest lead by the main protagonist, Sora. Since its release in 2005, the game has been so enormously received positively that fans have started wishing for a sequel.

And their wishes have been heard. "Kingdom Hearts III" is on its way although a definite release date has yet to be revealed since it was initially announced back in 2013 during a Sony E3 event. Since its first announcement there's been talks that big changes can be expected in the upcoming "Kingdom Heart" installment.

Once of the rumored big changes is the possibility that "Kingdom Hearts III" will include multiple playable characters and multiplayer gameplay. Which means that there will be additional playable characters besides the main protagonist Sora. Rumors of this swirled crazily back in September, after a Square Enix game designer from Osaka updated a linked in page, revealing juicy details of the "Kingdom Hearts III" Development. According to KH13, it was clearly stated the part of his key responsibilities for "Kingdom Hearts III" was "Multiplayer planning and documentation".

In a recent interview with Games TM, when Square Enix director Tetsuya Nomura was asked about the possibility of "Kingdom Hearts III" having more than one playable characters, his response was, "It's a secret but by saying that we imply that maybe something's going on. We can't disclose anything but, maybe, something will happen there."

It looks like "Kingdom Hearts III" may indeed turn out to have a multiplayer option after all, Square Enix has already added such mode for "Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep" for PS3 and PSP released in 2010. According to Design and Trend, there are two new protagonists in this franchise namely Ventus and Aqua. With this, fans are speculating if they will also be playable characters in the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts III"

So far, according to MNR Daily, the confirmed themes for "Kingdom Hearts III" world are "Big Hero 6" and "Tangle" with "Hiro" and "Baymax" as the latest addition to the cast of the game. Then again, fans are curious if they be playable characters or NPC's who will fight with Sora in Battles?

Eventually "Kingdom Hearts III" will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
