Drake Net Worth: From Teen Actor To A Rap God Who Rakes $40 Million Per Year

Born on October 24, 1986, Aubrey Drake Graham was raised in a Jewish household. His parents were divorced and he lived with his mother. As per Celebrity Net Worth, Drake grew up saying that he and his mother didn't live in a lavish home, and that the house where they reside isn't big. The house "was not big... was not luxurious. It was what we could afford."

They weren't that fortunate, but Drake however turned his attention towards school. He turned into acting when he was in high school. He then met the father of his high school friend, who helped him with his acting career. He got a role on the Canadian TV show "Degrassi: The Next Generation." Drake then dropped out of high school to take on the role. He may have dropped out but he eventually went back to school and earned his high school diploma in 2012. He started acting by the age of 15, taking on the role of Jimmy Brooks, a basketball player who was placed on a wheelchair after being shot. He didn't earn much out of acting as he would describe his paycheck as "under a teacher's salary". He used the money to pay for their house saying "we very poor, like broke."

He may have started out poor, but the Canadian rapper is now worth $40 million. As per Net Worth City, he earned $25 million the moment he reached the age of 25. He started his music career by doing backup vocals for the guys on the scene such as Lil Wayne, Jay Z, and Kanye West. He then slowly made a name into the music industry.

By 2010, Drake was voted on Forbes as the highest earning newcomer in which he was reportedly ranked in the $10 million spot. Aside from his music career, he also hit the million dollar mark through his endorsements.
