‘Prison Break’ Season 5 Updates and Speculations: Who’s Coming Back

It has been more than six years since the fourth season, and what is thought to be the final, of the hit series "Prison Break." Now, it has been confirmed that an all new "Prison Break" is coming on Fox in 2016 and with that comes speculations of how the sequel is going to be.

Earlier in August, TVLine reported that Fox officially confirmed the revival of the hit drama series "Prison Break." Speaking at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills, Chairman and CEO Gary Newman announced that, "It's going to bring back both brothers, [played by] Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell."

The sequel "picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show. The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back," Co-Chairman and CEO Dana Walden added.

The 10-episode series "definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series for a new audience," according to Walden.

As a quick recap, in the final episode of Season 4, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) obviously died. So this brings the biggest question on how they are going to bring Michael back from the grave. Purcell (Lincoln Burrows) wouldn't spill and told E! News, "I know that story but I can't tell you what it is. It's really exciting though. It will make sense for the fans."

Melty has two predictions on how the writers may pull it. One is that Michael's electrocution did not kill him but put him in a coma. The other option is that writers will just ignore how Michael died, which is actually in "The Final Break," the straight-to-DVD release. Well, "Prison Break" writers did a great job before, so it's possible that fans will not be disappointed.

Meanwhile, only Miller and Purcell are confirmed to be coming back to reprise their roles. The production is reportedly still in talks with Sarah Wayne Callies to return as Sara Tancredi, Michael's wife. Many fans surely hope Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell (Robert Knepper) will be back, as well as Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco).
