Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi Divorce: Ellen Refuses to Adopt Leaving Portia Heartbroken

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi divorce rumors are once again storming the web as the "Finding Dory" star refused to adopt a child despite the strong desire of De Rossi to be a mother, resulting into a difficult year in their relationship.

In one episode of "Ellen," Kim Kardashian's daughter North West appeared in the show where she showed affection to the child, interpreted by many that she likes children. The fondness she showed Kardashian's daughter made De Rossi think that she might consider adoption or having a sperm donor and gestational surrogate, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported.

But DeGeneres still didn't like the idea of having a child which allegedly caused drinking problem to the "Scandal" actress. It was revealed that the star checked into Passages Malibu to undergo a 30-day alcohol and drug treatment program back in May 2014.

In the “Today Show,” DeGeneres revealed that she didn't want kids because she was scared that they would end up being a big disappointment, Classicalite reported.

"What if it turns out that it's not as cute as I wanted or as talented? I'm gonna compare it to all these kids that I have on this show that are so smart and so funny. And I'm like, 'You are nowhere near these kids I had on today,'" DeGeneres said according to E! News, pointing out that having a child entails long-term commitment and she can't risk its responsibility.

Aside from that, another possible reason for the couple's misunderstanding is the hectic schedule of De Rossi as she was promoted as a regular in "Scandal" for her role as Elizabeth North.

But rumors about their marriage were denied by DeGeneres in the “Sirius XM” radio show saying that they are not living separately and they aren't heading for a divorce, Huffington Post reported.

"We really don't almost break up, we don't fight, we're madly in love, and I guess it's boring," DeGeneres said.
